Roy J. Crumly, 48, 814 Tuttle Ave., died Thursday morning at the 10th Street Veterans Hospital in Indianapolis. He had been ill for two years. For 15 years Crumly was a distributor here for Chesty Foods. Born Oct. 1, 1918, near Mellott in Fountain County, he was the son of Roy and Naomi Laird Crumly. He was married Jan. 11, 1947, to Hazel M. Morgan. During World War II, he served with the U.S. Army in Europe. The survivors include the widow; two sons, Harold Dean Crumly and Roy Lynn Crumly, both at home; his mother; three stepchildren, Robert Morgan of Crawfordsville, Gwendolyn Simms of Logansport and Janet Erickson of Indianapolis; a brother, Leland Crumly of Crawfordsville, and four sisters, Mrs. Maxine Clark of Crawfordsville, Mrs. Pauline Lindquists of Veedersburg and Mrs. Loretta Jean Reed and Miss Helen Joan Crumly, both of California. He was preceded in death by his father and three brothers. Funeral services will be at 2:30 p.m. Monday at Hunt and Son Funeral Home, with Rev. Lee Russell officiating. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 2 p.m. Saturday.
